View this post on Instagram My eyes opened, but darkness remained. My body, like the inner core of the earth, buried under layers. As I lay in my igloo, alert and ready to go, I had an epiphany. I become a morning person in the mountains. Fast forward to this morning in quarantine. I set my alarm for 8:30 am. The war that followed has been waged for years. A conflict between dreams and reality. This picture in my catalog, hiking in temperatures that froze my contact solution, triggered the memory of my little epiphany. I’ve always considered myself a night owl, but from today, I believe there’s no such thing. Each of us is a morning person. Some of us just haven’t found what we want to wake up for yet. I’m not climbing any mountains in Connecticut, but how can I create a life I jump out of bed for? Each snooze is a vote for change. I will never advocate anyone to wake up at 4 am but treat it as a thought experiment. If I set my alarm for 4 am, what would I wake up for?
